  • Hey! Weโ€™re forwarding this mental health volunteering opportunity for men in Oxford that may be of interest to some of you:

๐ŸงŠ OXFORD โ€“ SOMETHING SPECIAL IS BUILDING! ๐ŸงŠ

Could you help build a community where men look out for men?

IceBreakers has grown from a small Sunday morning gathering into a national charity supporting hundreds of men through nature, movement, conversation and cold water.

This October, theyโ€™re launching in Oxford, creating a space for men to connect, move, talk, laugh and support each other.
Theyโ€™re looking for men to become volunteer leaders and help build the Oxford chapter.

You donโ€™t need to be an expert.
You donโ€™t need previous leadership experience.
No prior training is needed, theyโ€™ll provide it.

What theyโ€™re looking for is simple:

Men who care about people.
Men who believe in community.
Men who want to help others feel welcome and connected.

Every Sunday morning at Port Meadow:

๐Ÿ•ข 7:45am - Meet
๐ŸงŠ 8:00am - Cold water dip
๐Ÿ’ช Warm-out exercises
โ˜•๏ธ Brew, bite & conversation at a local cafeฬ

Know a man who would make a great leader?

Tag him. Share this. Or get in touch.

If leading isnโ€™t for you, come and join them from October. Whether youโ€™re new to cold water or simply looking for a supportive community of men, youโ€™ll be welcome.

Come for the dip.

Stay for the community. ๐Ÿ’™

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.

Stigma surrounding mental health and suicide could often discourage people from seeking help when they struggle. We at Oxford Nightline want you to know that support is always available. No matter what you are going through, itโ€™s never too much, too little, or too late to start a conversation with someone who is trained to help you.

Oxford Nightline is an information, listening, and support service run for and by students at Oxford Brookes University and the University of Oxford. We aim to provide an anonymous, confidential, and non-judgemental space for students to talk to someone about anything they want.
